ICE brings Cable Vision under Kolbi banner

13 May 2015

State-owned parent company Grupo Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (Grupo ICE) has merged its cable TV and broadband arm, Cable Vision with its other telecom business, Kolbi, unifying the combined entity under the latter’s brand. NexTV LATAM writes that cable TV plans previously offered under Cable Vision are still available as Kolbi Home TV, and are offered alongside the existing IPTV packages provided by Kolbi as Kolbi Home Advanced TV. As noted by TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, ICE was given approval for its acquisition of Cable Vision in October 2012 and completed the takeover the following year. In the two years since, Cable Vision continued to operate under its own identity.
