Ukraine’s dominant fixed line provider Ukrtelecom has introduced a promotion to encourage small to medium enterprise (SME) customers to sign up for its IP telephony services. On its website the operator says that up until the end of June 2015 business customers can sign a one-year contract for two VoIP-based lines under its ‘Internet telephony 2 + 1’ offer and pay UAH42 (USD1.82) per line per month. The promotional campaign also includes ‘Internet telephony plus six months free internet’ giving those signing up to IP telephony a 50% discount on their first year’s internet access bill (with internet access rates beginning at UAH55 per month but depending on the selected tariff). Additionally, 3,000 minutes of VoIP calls are included in the monthly fee for each SIP-based telephone line, while the usage of an IP handset is charged at UAH1 per month and a Wi-Fi DSL router also UAH1 a month.
