Sources say Turkcell conducted due diligence on TriMob

17 Apr 2015

Turkish telecoms company Turkcell has conducted due diligence on a possible purchase of Ukraine’s TriMob, the cellular subsidiary of Ukrtelecom, according to ‘three independent market participants’ cited by Ukrainian publication Epravada. Ukrtelecom is owned by Ukrainian conglomerate SCM, itself wholly owned by Ukrainian tycoon Rinat Akhmetov, while Turkcell already majority owns Ukrainian cellco Astelit in a joint venture with SCM. The report said that Ukrtelecom, SCM and Turkcell declined to comment. Previous attempts by Ukrtelecom to offload 3G network operator TriMob have failed, mainly due to disagreements on price.
