Blizoo upgrades broadband speeds to 200Mbps

7 Apr 2015

Bulgarian internet service provider (ISP) Blizoo has introduced cable broadband access with download speeds of up to 200Mbps, following the launch of modems supporting DOCSIS 3.0 technology. Blizoo’s CEO Harald Roche said: ‘Blizoo has invested in improving the quality and reliability of our services, as our goal is to provide competitive and attractive products. With technical innovations enabling high speed internet of up to 200Mbps, we strive to offer our customers even more complete online experience.’

According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, Blizoo – which was formed by the merger of cablecos CableTel and Eurocom in late 2009 – is by far the largest cable operator in Bulgaria, with over 500,000 households connected to its network and coverage of 40 cities. With a widespread rollout of DOCSIS 3.0 technology under its belt, in November 2011 Blizoo re-launched its cable broadband range under the ‘Fiber Power’ brand, with download speeds of up to 150Mbps.
