Nos FY14 revenues drop 3% to EUR1.38bn; net income increases 17.8%

Nos, the Portuguese telecoms operator formed via the merger of domestic operators Zon Multimedia and Optimus in 2013, has reported operating revenues of EUR1.384 billion (USD1.571 billion) for the twelve-month period ended 31 December 2014, down 3.0% from EUR1.427 billion year-on-year. EBITDA for 2014 dropped 4.9% from EUR536.6 million to EUR510.5 million y-o-y, while net income increased 17.8%, from EUR63.4 million to EUR74.7 million.

In operational terms, Nos reported a total mobile subscriber base of 3.643 million at end-2014, of which 2.091 million were pre-paid customers. The number of broadband users stood at 993,00 at the same date, while fixed voice subscriptions were reported at 1.478 million. Pay-TV customers numbered 1.477 million at year-end, of which 1.167 million were ‘fixed access’ (IPTV) accounts.
