Vodafone Ireland enters M2M partnership with Ryanair

Vodafone’s Irish arm has announced a venture with budget airline Ryanair which will see it provide 95% of the carrier’s machine-to-machine (M2M) and telecoms needs. According to a press release, the UK-backed operator will support ticketing, check-in, ground crews, in-flight crews and pilots with 3G and 4G functionality across Ryanair’s 189 locations in Europe and North Africa. Under the partnership, 15,000 M2M connections are scheduled to go live by Q4 2015.
