UPC Netherlands to rebrand as Ziggo from April

18 Feb 2015

Dutch cableco UPC Netherlands is set to rebrand its operations under the Ziggo name from April this year, following the completed merger of the two companies in December last year. Telecompaper cites Mike Fries, CEO of UPC parent company Liberty Global, as saying that UPC’s adoption of the Ziggo brand name will coincide with a harmonisation of the operators’ products, including the rollout of UPC’s Horizon set top box (STB) under the Ziggo brand. UPC and Ziggo started integrating their networks earlier this year, and have already announced a number of changes relating to their service portfolios, which will take also effect from April.
