Vodafone files lawsuit over KPN’s acquisition of Reggefiber

5 Feb 2015

Vodafone Netherlands has filed a lawsuit regarding Dutch incumbent KPN’s acquisition of open-access fibre-optic broadband operator Reggefiber. According to local media reports, Vodafone wants to take regulator Autoriteit Consument & Markt (ACM) to court over its October 2014 approval of the full takeover.

TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database notes that, in January 2014, KPN exercised an option to raise its total holding in Reggefiber to 60%. The transaction received approval from the ACM in late-October 2014, allowing KPN to fully consolidate Reggefiber into its group financial results from 1 November 2014. Vodafone NL has provided broadband services via Reggefiber’s network since August 2011.
