Spanish mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) Masmovil has acquired corporate-focused telco Neo, obtaining a 4G licence in the process, according to Telecompaper. Neo offers fixed, mobile, internet and cloud services in 25 municipalities of Spain and covers 80% of the Spanish business sector, as well as owning a 4G licence for the entire country; Masmovil has also been offered first refusal to access to the 3.5GHz frequency infrastructure belonging to Neo’s Sky unit. Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed. TeleGeography notes that in March 2014 Masmovil merged with Spanish operator Ibercom, enabling the companies to integrate fixed and mobile voice and data services, targeting both residential and corporate markets.
