TeliaSonera’s 4G traffic surpasses 3G/2G

23 Dec 2014

Swedish telecom group TeliaSonera has announced that 4G mobile data traffic now accounts for more than half of total mobile traffic on its networks in Sweden (57%), Norway (55%) and Denmark (54%). The statistics come five years after the joint world premiere of commercial LTE services in Stockholm and Oslo by Telia Sweden and NetCom respectively in December 2009, while the group has launched 4G in ten other countries since. Allan Kock, director for radio networks at TeliaSonera, added that with the introduction of even more LTE devices, apps and content services, Telia expects 4G to ‘really rocket’ in the next few years.
