Telecom Personal has announced that it has switched on its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) networks in the cities of Buenos Aires, Cordoba and Rosario. At launch the cellco has deployed a total of 84 base transceiver stations (BTS) across the three locations, a figure which is expected to rise to 200 by the first quarter of 2015, with the network going on to cover 85% of the population within two years. Personal notes that it will spend around ARS13.0 billion (USD1.52 billion) on the deployment of 3G and 4G networks over the next three years, on top of the USD410.78 million committed during the government’s recent multi-band spectrum auction.
