Deutsche Telekom subsidiary T-Mobile Netherlands (NL) is to end its mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) service MTV Mobile by the end of the year. The Dutch mobile service provider entered into a partnership with American mass media company Viacom in January 2013 to operate youth brand MTV Mobile in the Netherlands, with the latter now confirming that subscriptions to its Dutch services are no longer available, although existing customers will be allowed to finish contracts. T-Mobile NL is said to be focussing on its own low-cost brand Ben, while Viacom will continue to promote MTV Mobile content in other ways.
