5 Dec 2014

Xplornet Communications, Canada’s largest rural broadband provider, has commercially launched a 25Mbps fixed-wireless LTE-based service in the province of New Brunswick. The upgraded broadband service is available in rural areas around the communities of Fredericton, Moncton, Saint John, Miramichi, Dieppe, Sackville, Shediac, Bouctouche, Sussex, Woodstock, Grand Falls and St. Stephen, while all of Xplornet’s fixed-wireless network in New Brunswick will be upgraded by 2015. The operator’s wider goal is to make 25Mbps internet available across Canada by 2017, which Xplornet president Allison Lenehan pointed out is the fastest rural fixed-wireless internet speeds in Canada.
