Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) has chosen telecoms technology provider Vanrise Solutions to supply the backbone for its voice trading and routing system, according to a press release. Vanrise’s T. One Suite will ‘play an essential role in the control and monitoring of [SLT’s] International voice traffic business’. SLT CEO Lalith De Silva said: ‘Through this solution, SLT’s global operations will be greatly benefitted. We are looking forward to playing an important role in regional carrier services. This futuristic approach will be further strengthened through the heavy investments we have already made to upgrade Sri Lanka’s global connectivity by partnering with the new 100Gbps SEA-ME-WE 5 submarine cable system and also by upgrading the existing SEA-ME-WE 4 system to 100Gbps technology.’ Implementation of the T. One Suite is currently underway, with the solution scheduled to be fully operational by December 2014.
