11 Nov 2014

Dutch open fibre broadband operator Reggefiber – part of the KPN group – activated 37,000 homes on its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network during 3Q14, bringing its total to 623,000 at end-September, according to Telecompaper. This follows declines in numbers for four successive quarters and increases penetration on the Reggefiber network to 32.9% at end of 3Q14, up from 32.2% in the previous quarter. The company was recently given approval from the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) to be fully consolidated into Dutch incumbent telco KPN’s group financial results as of 1 November 2014; KPN reportedly accounted for 25,000 of the 37,000 activations on the Reggefiber network in the three months up to end-September.
