AIS announces 3G users reach 88% of total

Thailand’s largest cellco by users Advanced Info Service (AIS) has reported that its 3G 2100MHz network customers reached 38.7 million at the end of September 2014, up from 34.4 million three months earlier, and accounting for over 88% of the total subscriber base, up by eight percentage points during the third quarter of the year. Total mobile accounts climbed from 42.9 million to 43.8 million in the same period. AIS also disclosed that Q3 2014 service revenues improved by 1.5% year-on-year to THB28.9 billion (USD884 million) while total revenue rose by 2.6% to THB35.3 billion. EBITDA for the three months ended 30 September climbed by 7.3% y-o-y to THB16.4 billion, while quarterly net profit increased by 7.4% to nearly THB9 billion.
