Alo! launches MVNO

28 Oct 2014

Serbian daily newspaper Alo! has launched its own mobile pre-paid mobile service, Alo! Mobile, over the network of Mobilkom Serbia (VIP Mobile). The mobile virtual network operator’s (MVNO’s) package has an initial cost of RSD200 (USD2.12) and includes RSD50 credit, valid for seven days although only for local traffic. Calls are charged on a per-minute basis, with calls to all domestic fixed and mobile lines charged at a rate of RSD5 per minute, alongside an initial RSD9.9 call setup fee. SMS and MMS, meanwhile, cost RSD2 and RSD12 respectively, whilst wireless data is priced at RSD0.03 per kB. Commenting on the launch, VIP director Dejan Turk noted that Alo! is the first company to launch MVNO services over VIP’s network.
