Nextel launches LTE in Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey

15 Oct 2014

Nextel de Mexico has announced that it has switched on its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network in Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey. Unlike rivals Telcel and Movistar, which offer pockets of LTE connectivity in selected cities, Nextel claims that its 4G network covers each city in its entirety from launch. Company president Salvador Alvarez notes that Nextel has invested ‘tens of millions of dollars’ in the rollout, adding that the network will be extended to new locations in due course.
