In a press release, Swedish telecoms group Tele2 announced that it has completed its mobile network modernisation project across its three Baltic units, representing the company’s largest investment – EUR50 million (USD63.6 million) – and mobile infrastructure upgrade in the Baltics to date. Tele2 finished the modernisation in Latvia last year, in Lithuania this spring, and now the project has reached completion in Estonia, involving the adoption of the latest technologies (including 4G) for upgrading existing mobile infrastructure whilst building 540 new mobile base station sites across the three countries, in partnership with Nokia Networks.
