TELE Greenland selects Comverse’s mVAS platform

23 Sep 2014

Greenland’s incumbent telecoms operator TELE has selected US-based solutions provider Comverse to deploy its cloud-based fully-virtualised Multi-VAS (mVAS) Solution, which converges SMSC, MMSC and Next-Generation Voicemail (NGVM) systems. According to a joint press release, Comverse mVAS is engineered to operate in both IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) and pre-IMS environments and is interoperable with all Rich Communication Services (RCS) and Voice-over-Long Term Evolution (VoLTE) standards for quick introduction of rich digital lifestyle services. The platform will provide TELE Greenland with enhanced service capabilities, CAPEX & OPEX savings and simplified operation.

Andy Aparico, CTO at TELE Greenland, said: ‘With the launch of LTE, delivering existing and innovative new services in the most efficient way is mission critical, requiring us to modernise and consolidate our VAS infrastructure… This unique fully virtualised solution, combining voice, text and multimedia messaging, expedites achievement of immediate and roadmap goals to upgrade the user experience and increase profitability.’
