iConnect, a provider of mobile services in the Marianas (Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands [CNMI] of Saipan, Tinian and Rota), has launched an entirely new HSPA+/LTE voice and data network on Guam. Known as ‘iConnect Advanced’, the new infrastructure offers high quality voice services and wireless data speeds of up to 21Mbps. The network, which operates in the 1900MHz frequency band, was supplied by equipment vendor Alcatel-Lucent. iConnect Advanced post-paid plans start from USD20 per month for 800 minutes, unlimited SMS and 3GB of data with an option to upgrade from HSPA+ to LTE speeds for an additional USD10 per month. TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database notes that iConnect also operates a 700MHz LTE network, launched in March 2013. Services are offered under the brand ‘LTE True 4G’.
