Vietnamese mobile operator Vinaphone has announced the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement with UK-based Vodafone Group, in order to promote international business between the two companies. Vinaphone spokesperson Doan Xuan Hop said the new deal will help to improve position of both parties in Vietnamese mobile market, while customers will be able to benefit from high quality international products and services. ‘The signing of an agreement on promoting international business between Vodafone and Vinaphone will develop long-term and successful cooperation foundations between two sides in fields of corporate customers, roaming, value added services, among others’, commented Vodafone CEO Vittorio Colao. Vinaphone, a subsidiary of state-run national PTO Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications (VNPT), is the country’s third largest mobile operator, with a total of 19.95 million subscribers at 30 June 2014.
