AIS deploying 3,000 small cells to meet capacity demands

Thailand’s largest cellco by subscribers AIS disclosed to Thai newspaper The Nation that it is deploying around 3,000 small cells to quicken its mobile broadband network expansion to meet demand in busy locations, avoiding delays in acquiring permission for building macro cell towers. AIS currently has around 19,300 base stations in operation, while it has received permission for around 8,000 new sites.
