Sweden’s Ericsson has signed a three-year managed services agreement with Vodafone Egypt under which it will deliver network field maintenance services and improve the quality of the operator’s infrastructure in the Greater Cairo area. In announcing the deal, the vendor claimed the agreement, which will see Vodafone Egypt outsource its network field services, was the first of its kind for the cellco. Commenting on the development, Vodafone Egypt’s chief technical officer Osama Said noted: ‘Ericsson has proved to be a steadfast partner throughout our years of partnership. With this agreement, we aim to achieve world class network quality with the most innovative solutions that best serve our customers’ needs.’
