30 Jul 2014

Vietnamese mobile network operator Vinaphone has announced that it has successfully tested Dual Carrier (DC)-HSPA+ technology, which is capable of providing maximum data speeds of 42Mbps. The cellco, which is a subsidiary of state-owned national PTO Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications (VNPT), said the technology has been trialled in select locations in the three major cities of Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City. It plans to begin rolling out DC-HSPA+ across its nearly 13,000 3G base stations nationwide in early 2015, adding that it is working with equipment suppliers to further boost data rates up to 84Mbps in the future.
