TRR consults on consumer protection regulation

21 Jul 2014

Vanuatu’s telecoms watchdog, the Telecommunications and Radiocommunications Regulator (TRR), has opened a public consultation on a draft Telecommunications Consumer Protection Regulation document, which seeks to establish the key safeguards relating to the rights and interests of consumers. The main purpose of the draft legislation is to help implement, facilitate and give effect to the statutory consumer protections listed in Part 8 of the Telecommunications and Radiocommunications Regulation Act No. 30 of 2009, by adding supplementary details and requirements and establishing procedures to govern how they will be applied. As such, the TRR has invited all interested parties to submit their comments on the topic by 29 August 2014.
