Ooredoo Maldives is expanding its 3.5G services to an additional 64 islands under a network modernisation project that will see coverage boosted to 95% of the population. ‘Our focus is on making the world better for Maldives; and we do that by bringing the latest technologies that help people, commented Ooredoo Maldives CEO Vikram Sinha, adding: ‘Whether it is expanding your knowledge through online education, growing your business with online tools or simply sharing your wonderful moments on the many social media networks, you need a network, a partner that supports you to achieve your dreams. Ooredoo is that network, and today, while our customers continue to enjoy the best data speeds on their mobile devices, we’re extremely proud to be able to rapidly expand our 3G+ network to reach close to everyone.’ Ooredoo, which is the Maldives’ second largest mobile operator by subscribers behind Dhivehi Raajjeyge Gulhun (Dhiraagu), said the 3.5G network modernisation and expansion project is expected to be completed by September 2014.
