The director of Serbian telecoms regulator RATEL, Milan Jankovic has announced that the authority expects to complete the nation’s television digitalisation process by the end of the year, six months ahead of its mid-2015 deadline. InSerbia writes that the official made the announcement in an address to the Serbian parliament, in which he also noted that the transition from analogue TV and radio to digital will free up spectrum for mobile broadband services. The sale of the digital dividend spectrum would raise at least EUR100 million (USD136.38 million) for state coffers, Jankovic added.
