Regional broadband provider NetCologne has posted revenues of EUR241 million (USD328 million) for the fiscal year ended 31 December 2013, down slightly from turnover of EUR242 million reported twelve months earlier. The Cologne-based company said net profit before tax grew 9% from EUR15.8 million in 2012 to EUR17.2 million the following year, while investment totalled EUR30.4 million for 2013. Fixed line (telephone and internet) customers reached 388,000 as at 31 December 2013 (up from 381,000 at end-2012), of which 149,000 were connected to its own fibre-optic infrastructure (2012: 139,000). NetCologne, which is owned by utilities company GEW Cologne, also recorded 216,000 TV and 25,000 mobile telephony customers at the end of 2013.
