Telecom NZ launches fibre broadband in North Island markets

Telecom New Zealand has announced the launch of its Ultra Fibre Broadband network in a number of new markets across the country’s North Island. The service, which provides internet access at up to 100Mbps, has been rolled out for home and business users in Tauranga, Hamilton, Te Awamutu, Cambridge, Tokoroa, New Plymouth and Hawera. A launch is also scheduled for Wanganui. Telecom currently claims around 46% of all broadband subscribers in New Zealand, TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database reports.
