Cellular operator MTN Uganda has filed a USD3.7 million lawsuit against the logistics firm Three Ways Shipping Services, claiming that it has been billed ‘for services not provided’. MTN claims that Three Ways submitted 134 invoices ‘for various assorted services which were purportedly provided and/or goods purportedly procured and supplied to the plaintiff (MTN), while in fact no goods were supplied and no services were ever provided,’ local newspaper The Observer reports. MTN says the issue dates back from between 2009 and 2012, and involved a number of MTN employees who have since been prosecuted.
