Slovak Telekom says it will be offering a new peak download speed of 300Mbps over its fibre networks from 1 August 2014, with the peak theoretical upload speed increased to 30Mbps. The speed hikes will be applied to its high-end Magi Internet XL plan, with the price remaining unchanged at EUR20 (USD27.11) per month. The operator says current subscribers will have to upgrade their equipment to achieve the new speeds, while new customers will be given the correct equipment at the time of purchase. Telekom adds that only parts of its fibre network will be able to access the enhanced data rates.
