CTH develops OTT and hybrid TV services

18 Jun 2014

Thailand’s Cable Thai Holding (CTH) has selected Irdeto and Inview technology to develop over-the-top (OTT) and hybrid versions of its pay-TV channel services. CTH currently offers more than 140 channels including 30 high definition (HD) channels and aims to offer a selection of these to all users outside its cable network footprint – a strategy which to date has involved tie-ups with satellite direct-to-home (DTH) providers. Via its latest partnership, however, CTH will use Inview’s software platform to provide either a pure OTT or a hybrid broadcast/OTT offering via a single user interface, RapidTV News reports. The cableco’s CTO Akradej Supamahitorn said: ‘CTH is prospering and we expect continued growth as we expand and evolve our offerings. We needed strong, experienced OTT partners to help us provide the most compelling pay-TV services to our customers … Irdeto and Inview … [CTH’s] partners for quite some time … provide us with a seamless user experience and dynamic, studio-grade content protection.’
