Belize Telemedia Limited (BTL, originally Belize Telecommunications Limited), which operates its cellular networks under the DigiCell banner, has announced that pre-paid subscribers can now benefit from voice roaming services in over 30 countries. In order to access the service, DigiCell users need to send an activation text message, which is free of charge; potential subscribers must be in Belize in order to activate the roaming offering. Further, the company also notes that it has lowered its roaming rates for both pre-paid and post-paid users.
