NBN Co renews Service Stream’s installation contract

12 Jun 2014

NBN Co, the company building and operating Australia’s National Broadband Network (NBN), has announced the renewal of what it termed a ‘key contract’ with Service Stream for the connection of homes and businesses to the infrastructure. Under the Field Service Delivery contract, Service Stream connects cables from the street to the outside of buildings as well as undertaking the installation of the NBN connection box and optional power supply unit inside the premises. Further, the contract also provides for the ongoing maintenance of the network.

As per the updated deal, Service Stream will continue to perform these tasks across five states and territories, those being: Victoria, New South Wales, Western Australia, the Northern Territory and South Australia. With the contract renewed for a further two year term, it has an estimated value of AUD140 million (USD113 million).
