TI Sparkle, Dolphin Telecom establish IP PoP in Ghana

TI Sparkle, the international services arm of the Telecom Italia Group, and Ghana-based communications carrier Dolphin Telecom have entered into a partnership agreement for the provision and development of IP connectivity services in West Africa through a newly established IP point of presence (PoP) in Ghana.

According to a joint press release, TI Sparkle and Dolphin Telecom will provide cost effective, high quality and secure, fully protected global IP connectivity solutions to network operators, internet service providers (ISPs) and service providers that are connected to Accra through major international cable systems.

Elisabetta Ripa, CEO of TI Sparkle, said; ‘Through the strategic relationship with a relevant player like Dolphin Telecom we are able to establish the first Tier 1 IP Gateway in West Africa and bring the internet thousands of miles closer to customers in the region, with impressive improvement in terms of quality of experience and latency.’
