Omnitel, Lithuania’s largest mobile operator by subscribers, has announced that it has so far upgraded around 90% of its wireless network under an extensive modernisation project that began in 2011. Upon completion in the summer, the TeliaSonera-owned company’s 3.5G network will be available across the entire country (coverage currently stands at around 97.2%), while the 4G LTE footprint is also being increased and currently covers 40% of the population.
