Telenor Pakistan is set to become the second player to enter the nascent 3G market, with a commercial launch set to take place on 1 June, Pro Pakistani writes without giving its source. The Norwegian-backed cellco currently offers 3G services on a trial basis in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi and coverage is expected to be initially limited to these four cities. The report added that a 3G launch from Mobilink was anticipated in the first half of June, whilst there has been no word on the expected launch date for China Mobile Pakistan (CMPak/Zong), which also currently holds the only 4G licence.
