Tele2 Lithuania has completed the modernisation of its entire mobile network across the country, having invested more than LTL77 million (USD31 million) since the project began in April 2012. The Swedish-owned company announced in a press release that it has upgraded 870 base stations and installed 150 new cell sites, while it has also rolled out a 10Gbps backbone network connecting the country’s major cities and updated its customer database management software. The cellco says the upgrade has increased the quality and coverage of mobile voice and data services.
