AT&T Mobility is gearing up to launch Voice-over-Long Term Evolution (VoLTE) services in two markets, Chicago and Minneapolis, on 23 May, technology website Engadget reports. However, the blog, which cites unnamed sources, admits that specific details regarding AT&T’s VoLTE deployments are still scarce. When quizzed on the report by Fierce Wireless, AT&T spokesman Mark Siegel commented: ‘We’re wrapping up our initial VoLTE market trials and our initial markets will be VoLTE-ready this year’.
