Swedish cableco Com Hem’s revenue in the first quarter of 2014 crept up by 0.9% quarter-on-quarter in Q1 2014 to SEK1.124 billion (USD172 million), while EBITDA climbed 0.8% q-o-q to SEK545 million. Broadband revenue improved to SEK344 million from SEK335 million over the same period, while fixed telephony turnover dropped to SEK90 million from SEK98 million. CAPEX investment was SEK215 million compared to SEK398 million in the previous quarter.
Total broadband subscribers reached 561,000 at 31 March 2014, up by 4.0% year-on-year from 539,000 in Q1 2013. The company added that its new TiVo converged digital TV platform attracted 74,000 subscriptions by the end of 1Q14, (or 12.4% of the digital TV subscriber base), six months after commercial launch. The number of fixed telephony customers was reported at 327,000 (virtually unchanged q-o-q).
