TOT scraps AIS 4G alliance plan

2 May 2014

State-backed Thai telco TOT has confirmed it has scrapped a proposed 4G partnership with mobile market leader AIS, after saying it faces difficulties in signing a contract during the country’s ongoing political deadlock. TOT had aimed to rent out an unused 2×5MHz block of 2100MHz mobile spectrum (of its total 2×15MHz in the band) to AIS to provide 4G services under a one-year deal.
