Deutsche Telekom lined up with private equity firms for Telekom Slovenije stake

2 May 2014

German heavyweight Deutsche Telekom submitted an expression of interest in a majority stake in Slovenian state-backed incumbent Telekom Slovenije by the deadline of 23 April, alongside a raft of private equity groups, namely Providence Equity Partners, Cinven, CVC, Blackstone and Bain, TMT Finance reports, adding that Norway’s Telenor and Russia’s MTS are thought not to have placed bids despite showing earlier interest. A deadline for non-binding offers has not yet been announced. The 75.6% stake on offer is valued at over EUR700 million (USD971 million).
