Alternative UK broadband provider BSkyB has published its financial results for the nine months ended 31 March 2014, revealing a 6.6% increase in turnover. For the period under review BSkyB generated revenues of GBP5.666 billion (USD9.11 billion), up from GBP5.313 billion a year earlier, while EBITDA stood at GBP1.223 billion, representing a 2.4% year-on-year decline. Operating profit meanwhile totalled GBP910 million compared with GBP994 million in 9M13. In operational terms, at the end of March 2014 BSkyB had a total of 5.197 million broadband subscribers on its books, an increase18.5% year-on-year, while fixed voice and line rental customers numbered 4.895 million (March-13: 4.208 million) and 4.789 million (March-13: 4.056 million), respectively.
