Vanuatu telecoms watchdog, the Telecommunications and Radiocommunications Regulator (TRR), has opened a public consultation on the potential allocation of the 694MHz-803MHz frequency band for 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) or LTE Advanced (LTE-A) wireless broadband services in the country. The TRR has published a consultation document, which provides background information with regards to 700MHz LTE deployments in other countries and outlines the watchdog’s plans. According to the document, the spectrum currently available for distribution in the 700MHz band comprises of 2×45MHz frequency division duplex (FDD) blocks. The watchdog invites all interested parties to submit their comments on any aspect of the spectrum allocation process by 13 June 2014.
