NBTC finalises 1800MHz minimum bids at USD359m

22 Apr 2014

Thailand’s National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has confirmed that its telecom committee has accepted the recommendations of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and finalised the minimum bids for 1800MHz mobile frequency licences in a 4G auction scheduled for August, the Bangkok Post reports. The reserve price for each of the two 12.5MHz spectrum licences on offer has been set at THB11.6 billion (USD359 million), which is 3% higher than the floor price for Thailand’s previous 2100MHz auction spectrum. 1800MHz licences will be valid for 19 years.
