NCC plans 3.5GHz regional licence auction

11 Apr 2014

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has announced plans for an auction of spectrum in the 3.5GHz frequency band, local newspaper This Day reports. The spectrum will be licensed on a regional basis, with 25MHz available for 27 states and 20MHz for Abuja, according to NCC executive vice chairman Eugene Juwah. The regulator has asked interested companies to submit an application of interest, following which a timetable for the auction will be formally drawn up.
