Telecoms watchdog Instituto Dominicano de las Telecomunicaciones (Indotel) has resumed a tender for awarding frequencies in the 941MHz-960MHz, 1710MHz-1755MHz and 2110MHz-2155MHz spectrum bands for the provision of wireless telecoms services in the Dominican Republic, with its Resolution 016/14. The regulator initially sought to make the aforementioned frequencies available back in October 2011, as per document LPI-003-2011. According to an Indotel press release, the auction is open to international participants, and the successful bidder will be announced on 21 April 2014; Indotel expects to grant the licence within a 30-day period.
