The Brazilian mobile operator Claro has opened its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network to pre-paid users who currently subscribe to its 3G service ‘Control’. The higher speed 4G offering is available to all Control users with a compatible handset, at the same cost as the 3G product; a daily 10MB 3G data plan currently costs BRL0.60 (USD0.26). The company’s director of value-added services (VAS), Alexander Olivari, told Reuters: ‘As we have made significant investment in the 4G network, we want people to use this network, which has a lot of traffic capacity.’
