Telkom’s revenues rise 7.5% in FY2013 to USD7.23bn

Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom, including mobile division Telkomsel) has posted consolidated revenues of IDR83.0 trillion (USD7.23 billion) in full-year 2013, up by 7.5% from 2012, helped by Telkomsel’s 10.1% revenue growth. Consolidated EBITDA grew 5.1% year-on-year to IDR41.8 trillion and net income improved by 10.5% to IDR14.2 trillion. Telkom’s fixed broadband lines in service increased by 28.7% to 3.0 million at the end of December 2013, but were dwarfed by mobile data users which totalled 60.5 million at the same date – up by 10.8% during the year. Mobile data services earned IDR10.5 trillion in revenue for Telkomsel in 2013, a 35.6% year-on-year increase (compared to 4.8% cellular voice revenue growth), while Telkom reported that the group’s total combined mobile data/fixed broadband revenues grew by 25.6% to IDR15.1 trillion. Telkomsel’s total mobile subscribers increased by a net 6.4 million in twelve months to reach 131.5 million at 31 December 2013.

Telkom added that as part of its Indonesia Digital Network programme, its fixed broadband network passed 8.2 million homes at the end of 2013, based on a mixture of fibre-to-the-curb (FTTC), ADSL and fibre-to-the-home (FTTH). The telco has installed 82,800 public Wi-Fi points, accessible to Telkom and Telkomsel customers. On the transport network side, the operator has rolled out 68,800km of national and regional backbone infrastructure, out of a targeted 75,000km in 2015.
